WALT write descriptive sanpshots of a moment in time

Today in writing we discussed the way felt, what we saw, smelt and heard when we were waiting to say our Mihi at the Marae. This will help us to write our snapshot with lots of detail. For a lot of us this was our big risk we were taking and for most of us emotions were running high.

Here is our brain bubble of ideas.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori

This week is Maori Language week. To celebrate we have been practicing our loopy game in Te Reo. This is what we did today!!!!!!!!!

Tangaroa's Gift

We have read the story Tangaroa's Gift. It is the story of how Paua got his shell. We spent a lot of time discussing what this story means for us in our lives. We have created our own Paua shells by blending pastel colours. Room 10 is very proud of what we have created. Let us know what you think.

Taking Risks with Room 1!

On Tuesday the 28th of June Room 10 and Room 1 went to the play ground and took risks. I supported my buddy by demonstrating what he had to do,helping him get up on the equipment, helping out and cheering him on. I helped him on the flying fox, monkey bars and the brick walls. It was an important job because we are helping them to take risks on the stuff they havent done before. I learnt that little people can do amazing stuff and do big things.

Taking Risks with Room 1!

My buddy was Jayden. I supported my buddy by holding him and telling him that he could do it. I helped my buddy do the monkey bars. It was a important job because if they were on there own they could of fell and hurt them selves. I learned that all my buddy needed was a little encorgement to get him going.

Taking Risks with Room 1!

I supported my buddy by showing her what to do.
I helped my buddy do the chains, floating mushrooms and the rock wall.
It was a important job helping my buddy because she was a bit scared.
I learned that the things I thought weren't scary where scary for my buddy
Evie

I supported my buddy by telling him what to do.
I helped my buddy do the spider web, brick wall, monkey bars, and go down the pole.
It was a important job because he did not want to do them all.
I learn that the things I thought weren't scary where scary for my buddy.

Rumours' Buddy
On Tuesday the 28th of June Room 1 came to Room 10 for taking risks. My buddy's name is Tazman and I supported her by cheering her on and helping her through every thing.
I helped her through things that she was scared of but she could do the rest of the things on her own because she was brave. I think it is an important job because they will learn things on there own when they grow up. I learned that when you grow up you can figure things on your own by believing you can do it.

Tylah's Buddy
My buddy was Alaric from Room 1 and I supported him by saying you can do it.
I helped Alaric do things he was scared of and I would let him do the things he knows. It is an important job so that when they grow up they will know what to do. I learnt that if you help them and teach them they will understand what to do when they are older like Room 10.

TAKING RISKS WITH ROOM ONE

We were taking risks with Room One. We demonstrated how to go down the pole and how to do the monkey bars. It was an important job to ensure they did not hurt themselves. We learned that little kids can do big things!

Taking Risks with Room 1!

We supported our buddies by comforting them and telling them that they were doing well.
We helped them over come their fears and help them to accomplish things that they never thought that they could do. It was important job because we needed to make sure that they felt confident in themselves we also needed to make sure that didn't fall. We learned that if you try and try again you can do stuff that you thought you could do!!
